New general management couple of Camp Jabulani Introduced

By 8th Jun 2016 No Comments

Christo and Wilma Rachmann are the recently appointed management couple at Camp Jabulani. Both self-proclaimed nature lovers, Chris grew up on a farm near Standerton in Mpumalanga and has an affinity with nature. Although Wilma is from the city of Pretoria, she’s always had a passion for conservation, and working with animals in their natural environment – coupled with a penchant for the hospitality industry.

Christo has a background in agriculture, and together with his brother managed a farm in Zambia for three years. He later completed his Diploma in Nature Guiding at Entabeni.

Wilma spent a year in the United States of America before completing her BCom Honours degree in Tourism Management at the University of Pretoria.

They were both offered an opportunity to work for a tour operator in Pretoria, where they spent 5 years assisting with the running and management of various divisions within the company.

Tired of the city, they decided to pursue a different career path. They spent 5 wonderful years at Tuningi Safari Lodge in Madikwe before moving to Ants Nest and Ants Hill Bush Homes in Vaalwater, serving as General Manager couple for Ants Hill.

Nine months later they were afforded an opportunity to become part of the Camp Jabulani family. They joined Camp Jabulani on the 1st of May 2016.

Said Christo and Wilma, “The story behind the elephants, the Roode Family’s passion and dedication towards conservation, as well as the Camp Jabulani team, are just a few of the reasons why Camp Jabulani is a very special lodge that has earned its standing in the South African luxury hotel industry.”

On what they hope to bring to Camp Jabulani, they said “We believe that with our combined experience and the existing Camp Jabulani family both on the ground and at head office, our team will take the lodge to new heights. Guests arriving must feel like they are staying in a home away from home, where all their needs are taken care of – leaving as part of the family after a once in a lifetime experience.”

A warm welcome to Camp Jabulani, Christo and Wilma!
