HERD (Hoedspruit Elephant Rehabilitation and Development) was founded by Adine Roode, Owner and MD of Jabulani, and is South Africa's first and only dedicated elephant orphanage. HERD provides a elephant calves orphaned due to human-elephant conflict with a place to rehabilitate and integrate into a herd of their own – the Jabulani herd of rescued elephants.
