We could not have said it better ourselves!
“As this was our 5th trip to Africa in 6 years, we decided to return to Camp Jabulani for a second time and again, we were not disappointed.
Lodge: Excellent! Having stayed at Camp Jabulani in 2014, we knew what to expect and again, we had a wonderful experience. From Wilma our host, to André our guide to Alex our chef, Shadrick and Issac our servers and Tigere who manages the Camp Jabulani elephants… everyone was terrific!!! All were very friendly and very eager to please.
Accommodations: Excellent! Again, traditional safari lodge décor with all the comforts you could expect including private deck and pool. We felt right at home!
Staff: Excellent! They immediately acknowledged that we were returning guests with a very warm welcome. Our waiters (Shadrick and Issac) remembered us and we’re extremely warm and friendly. Always greeting us with a smile.
Food: Excellent! Alex (chef) presented the menu for each meal and was very eager to prepare our meals according to our likes and dislikes, even putting a burger on the menu for lunch one afternoon, which turned out to be a favorite for all the guests. His dishes were exceptions. My wife asked for a couple of recipes, which he gladly shared.
Guide/Ranger: Excellent! The bar was set quite high having visited 3 other lodges prior to arriving at Camp Jabulani, so we had great expectations of our guide, André. Although he was not as experienced as some of the guides from our previous reserves, André was very knowledgeable and provided some great animal sightings and photo ops.
Game Sightings: Excellent! Fantastic elephant sightings of course, both Camp Jabulani elephants and in the wild with many sightings of lions, buffalo, zebra, giraffe and hippos. Also, spending time at the watering hole viewing Jabulani and his Camp Jabulani elephant family is one of our favorite things to do!
Bottom Line: As I noted, Camp Jabulani is one of our favorite destinations as it’s all about the elephant experience. We really enjoyed the elephant safari’s and getting close to the elephants we have come to know by name. We also enjoy visiting the Hoedspruit Endangered Species Center. We look forward to returning to Camp Jabulani once again soon.”
