School: Lumukisa Preparatory School

Jabulani and their sister property, The Hoedspruit Endangered Species Centre (HESC) are actively involved in the education of learners, students and the general public about the necessity of conservation. This includes a community outreach program and the Rhino youth-art conservation initiative.

Jabulani and HESC have partnered with the rural school, Lumukisa Preparatory School, located 30 km from HESC. This partnership gives underprivileged learners the opportunity to learn more about endangered wildlife, particularly the cheetah and rhino. Groups of 16 learners visit the centre throughout the year, accompanied by four teachers. During these visits, they assist the staff as they go about their daily duties and are taught about conservation and the beauty of wildlife.

The school is in need of basic essentials such as pens, rulers, school uniforms and shoes, school bags, class supplies, and equipment.

Jabulani also supports Hlokomela Clinic , an award-winning HIV and AIDS educational and treatment programme centre, that was initially built to support the local farming community. They have expanded to assist surrounding communities too, also helping seasonal workers and migrants from other countries such as Mozambique, Zimbabwe, and elsewhere in Southern Africa.

Guests that would like to donate goods to Hlokomela, please let us know and we can pre-purchase products to take on a visit to the clinic or to drop off on our guests’ behalf. Guests are also welcome to leave old clothes behind that can be donated to the clinic.
